WeChat and Weibo Are Not the Same Animal — and That Is the Point Picture the first week after landing in China: you are standing outside a campus gate in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, or Changsha, trying to work out which entrance your class uses, whether the cafeteria takes foreign cards, and why everyone around you seems to know about a weekend event before you do.
